RED'S
RECORD RACK
Satellites
Launch
High-Flying
disc By RED
ROBINSON (Vancouver Sun
Oct. 25, 1957)
A few weeks ago I predicted that soon a
recording group would call themselves the
Satellites.
Well, it's happened.
They are quite a down to earth
group led by a fella called Bobby Day.
They record on Class records in the
States and Regency in Canada.
The song they have put out is
called "Little Bitty Pretty One."
By all indications it should climb
as high as Sputnik.

Bitty Pretty One Bobby Day
& the Satellites
Elvis Presley's previous background boys,
Scotty Moore and Bill Black, decided to
call it quits with "The King Sideburns
Show." So Elvis hired guitarist Hank
Garland to back him up.
Scotty and Bill then asked if
they could rejoin Elvis. He said
'nix, nix."
A group of local boys now
recording for London-Aragon have made it
big.
Their first release, "Hot
Rod," is now the No. 6 song in the
Vancouver area.
They call themselves the
Stripes and they are travelling to Seattle
this week to visit all the disc jockeys in
the area.

Elvis Presley is going to release a
Christmas LP.
The orders in three days
exceeded 200,000. According to
RCA Victor, this is the greatest
advance album order in the history of
the company.
